Information about Marie-ange

I am a French native speaker. I have been living in the UK since 1981. I offer a freelance one-to-one tutoring service in a friendly, supportive and relaxed environment from my quiet home in Wilton, near Salisbury. I also facilitate French conversation groups of all ages and abilities. For students with physical disability or living far away, I use Skype and provide different on-line supports.

I am passionate about my mother tongue. Throughout the years, I have tutored school children, adults and undergraduate students, individually and in groups. I am very enthusiastic about making French accessible to everyone and use a variety of teaching styles and aids to suit my students’ ability and temperament. I tailor the lessons to suit students’ individual needs and make them relevant to their aims and requirements. My teaching is practical, informative, personalised as well as fun.

I have been an Alexander Technique Teacher, Reflexologist, Ear and Body Acupuncturist, Reiki practitioner and teacher for the last fifteen years. I am also a qualified teacher of Dru Yoga. I have been using Stress-Management, Yoga and Meditation as well as Emotional Freedom Technique to help people improve the quality of their life and health. I teach on the above subjects on request on a one-to-one basis or to groups.

Availability: Day time during the week with some early evening on Thursdays and Fridays: I am flexible and can work around your own schedule if you are prepared to come to my home in Wilton.

Saturday lessons can be negotiated in special circumstances. Saturday slots are available for late GCSE, AS and A level revision three months before the examinations are due.

I usually do not go to students` homes, unless I am tutoring young children. My home is located on two bus routes and there are two request bus stops close by. Free parking is also available .For students living a long way or unable to come, I provide on-line support and Skype lessons after an initial face-to-face lesson.

Willing to travel: 5 miles

Experience: I qualified as a primary school teacher and specialised in special educational needs. I also taught hearing-impaired children in specialist units and in mainstream schools. I worked with adults with a learning disability in residential and care settings. I am available to tutor primary (KS1 and KS2) and secondary as well as adult learners.

I have been teaching and tutoring since 1988. After three years of teaching at primary school level, I worked as a freelance French language tutor in companies and Government Departments in Central London. I also tutored in French for the Short Course Department of the School of Languages at the Polytechnic of Central London (now the University of Westminster) and for several language schools in London. Since I left London, I have taught French privately to a wide range of students in Salisbury, from secondary school children to adults. I have helped young students to prepare for their French GCSE and A level exams.

For the last five years, I have also taught French intensive courses for the Ministry of Defense and have prepared officers for MLA exams.

I have been teaching French to groups of adults for Bishop Wordsworth`s School and Wiltshire College on their evening language programmes.
