Information about Sophie
I am a personable and focused tutor, who strives to create carefully planned lessons that build towards specific academic goals. I am a qualified teacher with a PGCE from the University of Oxford and a First-Class honours degree in my undergraduate course. I aim to equip students with the skills to tackle their studies independently and with confidence.
Availability: - Available for A-level/GCSE exam preparation in Religious Studies and Philosophy.

Experience: Recent experience: In the past two years, 100% of the students I have tutored for entrance exams have gained places (including the offer of two academic scholarships) at their target secondary schools. Additionally, in the past twelve months multiple A-level and GCSE students have reached and exceeded their target grades - including one A-level tutee who improved by three grades.
I began tutoring in 2015 and have three years classroom experience, as well as experience working as an examiner marking GCSE and A-level papers on a regular basis. I received distinction in all my examined assignments in my PGCE and a first with honours in my undergraduate degree.

Sophie has been fantastic. My daughter has really enjoyed the sessions and has said she has understood some topics for the first time by the way Sophie has explained them. The sessions are well prepared- with my daughter setting the agenda of subjects she finds a challenge. A great boost in the run up to exams.

Sophie is thorough, attentative and flexible, we`ve commissioned a few tutors to support our daughter and Sophie is her favourite one and she really looks forward to lessons, so much so she attempted at 12 mark questions she set herself and tells me she scored 12/12 so pleased with the progress.
