Information about Asma
Qualified to PhD level and with over 10 years tutoring experience. I teach Maths for all levels starting from Primary to A-levels and I also teach Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Combined Science for all levels upto GCSE.
Studied for PhD at UCL and I also hold a BSc in Physics with First Class Honours from Imperial College London and MSc in Computing Science also from Imperial College London.
I was a keen student myself throughout my life achieving 9 As and 2 Bs at Olevels and 4 As at A-levels plus several academic awards. The skills I learnt that helped me achieve top grades have successfully guided me in life when mentoring students.
My approach is extremely flexible as I tend to adapt my teaching method based on the tutee`s particular needs.
As a tutor its very important to me that I understand the personality of my tutee in order to make him/her fully comfortable in my presence and also to gauge what mode of teaching is most suitable for him/her. I have learnt some students are better audio learners whilst others are more visually driven.
This not only encourages my students to ask questions they would otherwise be hesitant to ask but also creates a pleasant environment that imparts maximum learning.
I believe in lively, informal and interactive tutorials, where after making the fundamental concepts clear to my students I get them to practice questions to ensure that the ideas have been fully grasped.
I usually set them questions as homework (taking into account the tutees time schedule) as well as providing them with notes on the topic we cover during the lesson to ensure the student doesn`t forget the material we go through.
Availability: I am free to tutor on weekdays in the evenings or at the weekends. Tutoring can be done both in person and online.
Willing to travel: Home Only
Experience: I have been tutoring students successfully for more than 10 years and am happy to say that nearly all of my tutees have gone on to achieve top grades in their respective subjects.
I have never had an unsatisfied student so far. I achieve this by carefully listening to their specific needs and focusing on developing individuals rather than one-size-fits-all approach.

My daughter was really struggling with A level maths 9 months ago and had lost her confidence in her own ability. Asma tailored the sessions to suit my daughters learning style and needs. Her calm and patient approach boosted her confidence. She achieved an A in her A level, two grades higher than predicted. I cannot recommend Asma highly enough.
