Information about Shahari
I recently graduated from the University of Bristol, with a Bachelors in Economics and Management. Before this I achieved 3 A`s in my A levels, having studied Mathematics, Economics, Geography and Law (in my first year). My background has allowed me to generate a wealth of knowledge in Mathematics and Economics, therefore I tutor specifically in these two subjects, as well as 11+ entrance exams. I believe as a recent graduate, I`m able to connect with students, relate to their learning experiences and provide productive, effective teaching sessions. As an individual, I am hardworking, determined, personable, and have developed good communication and organisation skills from various professional and personal experiences. I am a strong advocate for private tutoring as it is something, I made the most of during my time in school. Consequently, I can understand and appreciate the value of tutoring outside the education system, especially the benefits it provides for a student`s development. My attitude behind tutoring is the reason I am passionate about helping students reach their potential and dedicated to supporting their learning experiences throughout their time at school.
Availability: I am available throughout the week, anytime.
Willing to travel: 20 miles
Experience: After experiencing the gruelling process of entrance exams myself, I began tutoring cousins and a network of younger children for their 11+ entrance exams a few years later, as well as aiding them in their preparation for interviews. In addition to 11+ tutoring, I cultivated experience teaching dance to younger children for a few years after I achieved my diploma in south Indian dance. As a result, I was able to develop an ability to communicate with younger children and build an understanding of how to productively teach and manage behaviours. During my time at university, I spent the weekends tutoring A-level and GCSE students in Mathematics and Economics. This experience allowed me to regularly research innovative learning methods and prepare learning resources accordingly in order to cater to the specific learning style of each individual. I also developed an ability to apply various verbal and non-verbal communication strategies to accommodate the personality and background of the student, resulting in positive, productive results, evidenced through exam results.
