I’m a fully qualified, friendly and approachable English teacher with a love of both literature and language. I have taught English to pupils from age 4 through to age 18 in primary and secondary settings in both the state and independent sectors.

My main experience has been in teaching Years 7, 8 and 9 (KS3) GCSE (KS4) and A-level (KS5) students, degree level students and adult learners, however, I have also taught English to primary aged children. I have tutored Year 8 preparatory school pupils in English scholarship exams for successful entry to Westminster, St Paul’s and Eton as well.

I am available to tutor any age group with both specific tutoring requests or more general assistance in developing technique, understanding and importantly confidence.

I have a degree in English Literature from the University of Sheffield (which also had a strong Drama component) and I now run an adult creative writing group with a diverse participant group. I also write creatively myself with a special interest in poetry, with a First in a creative writing module at university level.

I am organised and hard-working and strongly believe English can be an enjoyable and accessible subject for everyone.
