I have more than 20 years` experience teaching English to university students, business executives and other professionals, mostly in Spain, where I lived for many years.
I worked for 5 years at ESADE in Barcelona, teaching Business English as well as CAE, FCE and other exam-preparation courses; I specialized in coaching executives to succeed in job interviews and I spent several years giving individual MBA Professors one-to-one coaching on adapting their courses for international audiences.
I have also been a freelance teacher in Spain for many years, teaching at various companies and for various language schools.
In recent years I have moved back to live in the UK and I tutor my students online. My current students are from China, Saudi Arabia, Italy, Brazil, Switzerland, Taiwan, Spain, Korea, Poland, Puerto Rico, Vietnam and other countries).
I enjoy teaching and my focus is always on adapting, selecting and creating materials and organizing tasks in order to achieve your personal study goals and life objectives. I prioritize speaking above the other three skills unless you tell me you have a different preference.
In my opinion, speaking is the most important skill. I always get my students talking right from the beginning of each class, and we talk almost constantly during each lesson, while we are studying vocabulary, grammar and pronunciation together.
Writing is also important and I always offer my students writing tasks for optional homework; and the writing task is always based on something we had a conversation about in class, so that it`s an opportunity for you to get some more practice of that vocabulary and grammar which we studied that day. But I understand that everyone is busy, so homework is always optional. If you don`t have time to do the homework, then that`s okay! Don`t get stressed out about it.
