Information about Alexander

Hello!

I`m Alex, a Cambridge University graduate and professionally qualified teacher, now full time professional tutor of Mathematics, Further Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics and Biology. Since 2015, I have been a full-time (self-employed) tutor - during this time I have completed over 4000 hours of one-to-one tuition.

I have significant experience helping students with a wide range of abilities and specific educational needs (especially ASD). I typically tutor students of ages ~14-18 as well as the occasional mature student.

I`m currently/have recently tutored students from the following schools:

In/Around Reading:
Kendrick School, Leighton Park School, Maiden Erleigh, Reading School, The Holt & Waingels` College, Henley College,

Across the Home Counties:
Charterhouse, Eton, Guildford High School, Harrow, RGS Guildford, St. Helen`s & St. Katherine`s, Tonbridge, Wellington College.

Each year I help my A Level students to exceed in their examinations before going on to study a wide variety scientific subjects (including but not limited to): Medicine, Engineering, Physics and Mathematics, Natural Sciences, Medical/Biological Sciences.

I am available Monday-Saturday - please contact me for more information,

I will tutor (at your home anywhere in Oxfordshire, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire or Surrey) for the following subjects and skills:

>> GCSE Additional Science

>>13+
>> Oxbridge Applications
>> University Applications
>> Academic Consulting

Qualifications:
PGCE from Reading (qualified teacher)
Undergraduate degree in Medical Sciences (MA, BA from Cambridge)
A Levels - 3As (before A*s existed) in Mathematics, Chemistry and Physics
6A*s & 4As at GCSE - despite missing half of my exam year for a serious illness.
At present I`m also doing further university-level study in Mathematics & Economics.

I have a Labrador who comes with me to many of my tutorials - please let me know if an alternative arrangement would need to be made for him.

Availability: I am a full-time professional tutor so I am completely dedicated to the 15-18 students I support each year. This gives me (and you) significant flexibility as to when I am available - but also, most importantly when exams are fast approaching, my focus remains 100% on my students receiving tuition. All my time throughout the year is committed to these few students excelling in their upcoming exams - and not on some other full-time work or study, as can be the case with many tutors.

I am usually available up until 8pm Monday-Saturday. Please contact me to find out more details about my availability. I have some students who will see me weekly or fortnightly, and some who just need a little extra support during half-terms or the longer holidays at Christmas, Easter and in the summer.

Willing to travel: 30 miles

Experience: *Over 4000 hours of one-to-one tuition* 8 years of tuition experience.

I have worked as a professional full-time tutor from early 2015, having taught in school briefly after completing a PGCE, a qualification that recognises the pedagogical knowledge and understanding I have. I have significant experience in helping students across a wide range of academic abilities and I have extensive experience working with students who have certain educational challenges such as ASD, ADHD, Dyslexia, Dyscalculia, Dysgraphia. I also have helped many A/B grade students become A* students.
