I have been teaching for 8 years and I am a fully qualified and practicing history and politics teacher, with in-depth knowledge of what exam boards want. I can help with both GCSE and A level history, at A level specialising in Modern British history, America, Russia, Germany and Ancient History. I have a huge passion for politics and lead the subject at an outstanding school, particularly in the politics of the USA, having produced results in the top 10% of the country over the last few years. I`m incredibly enthusiastic and will help with exam technique, coursework drafting and will assist in creating a passion for any subject which will inevitably lead to higher attainment.
Availability: Available evenings, 5 onwards weekdays.
Willing to travel: 15 miles
Experience: Joint honours degree in Ancient History and Politics from a Russell group university, PGCE in history teaching, outstanding teacher status working in an outstanding school.

Lucy has done a few pre-GCSE sessions to help my daughter with trying to work on her answers to move up a grade band. She has been absolutely excellent and my daughter has really benefitted from the sessions.

Picking a tutor is always worrying as you don’t know how the tutor will be but we needn’t of worried. Lucy is an extremely good tutor. My son always comes away from the lesson feeling very enthusiastic and confident. This has never happened before with any other tutor. This is definitely down to the way she teaches him and the way she is so passionate about the subject she is teaching (politics) and her enthusiasm definitely rubs off onto my son. Communication with Lucy is always good too. I would have no hesitation in recommending her to anybody. Thank you Lucy.
