I am a enthusiastic Science Teacher who is patient, friendly and successful. I love my job as a classroom teacher and tutor.

I tutor Science at all levels up to GCSE and Biology at A Level. I have a good sense of humor and I am used to teaching in 1:1 situations.

My approach is to boost a students` confidence in a relaxed environment resulting in greater success, enjoyment and self-belief.

My teaching style is individually tailored and differentiated to meet the need of the students I teach. I fix any diagnosed gaps in knowledge and skills with practice questions, well explained concepts, and bite sized steps to the correct answer. Once students have built a strong foundation of subject knowledge, we push them by training their ability to apply and link their knowledge since exam boards test for this in their higher level questions.

My lessons can consist of the following.

Coaching on exam technique and how to decode questions
Using the online whiteboard
Video aminations
Online required practical simulations
Questioning
use of online text books, websites and revision guides
PowerPoints and lesson notes that I can send over at the end of the lesson
Homework
Diagnosing strengths and weaknesses

Feedback on strengths and weaknesses
Teaching of revision methods and suggested revision material

Experience: I carried out my degree (2:1) and PGCE in Secondary Science at the University of Portsmouth.

I have been a qualified teacher for 12 years. I taught Science and Physical Education for 3 years in a state school and I currently teach Science in an independent specialist school. I have been tutoring Science for over 10 years now with huge success, helping meet students individual needs and ensuring they fulfill their potential. Having worked as an examiner I have a vast amount of experience and expertise in helping students master decoding questions and improving exam technique. I also have access to past paper questions, practice questions topic by topic and other online resources.

I have worked with students of all abilities and have current experience of working with students with special needs.

I have taught all the major exam boards including AQA, Edexcel (including IGCSE), OCR, and Cambridge IGCSE.

I also have experience in helping with controlled assessments and BTEC work.
