My name is Luana. I`m currently a 2nd year student of Latin American Languages and Culture at UCL. I love languages and literature (I`m a native speaker in French, Spanish, English, but I also speak conversational Italian and brazilian Portuguese).Being an avid reader, and having lived in both latin America, Spain, and France, I have also been able to learn the different variants of each language.I also have experience working with teenagers and children through teaching projects, workshops, and working in summer camps.

I offer individualized lessons and reviews tailored to each student`s strengths and weaknesses and what they aim to archive. I am a language student myself at University College London, where I have just finished my second year of studying and achieved a 1st in the first and second year of my degree and have averaged around 90% in all of my language modules. Using this experience, I can show students tips and tricks to be successful in a school setting (helping students create their own study guides, setting in motion studying and test-taking strategies that work for them, give them individual assignments relevant to their syllabus, taking and revising mock exams). I specialize in GCSE, A-Level, and conversational Spanish and French.

Prior to moving to London for university, I lived in Paris where I graduated the French Literature, Language, and Philosophy OIB with a focus on Spanish, French and American literature (French general baccalaureate with international American option, série Littéraire avec spécialité Langue Vivante Espagnol) with high honors from the Lycée International de Saint-Germain-en-Laye. I was also one of the two students in my graduating class selected in my district to compete in the Spanish Concours Général. I also have my Spanish C2.

Experience: I am familiar with the primary, GCSE, and A-level syllabus since I have had extensive experience tutoring my peers in after-school programs (homework help, essay labs (writing and planning), and organizing group revisions. I aslo have experience tutoring Key Stage 3 students. I have helped many reach their target grades and specific goals, may it be just passing or reaching for A*s. I have also learned to teach languages to younger students through stimulating games. For older students, I concentrate on revising syntax, verb tenses, and lexicon. This is the foundation for feeling confident in conversing in a foreign language. This way, pupils can concentrate on the more rewarding aspects of language learning (literature, films, art, and overall cultural aspects) and continuously be one step ahead of the work done in class to meet and exceed the examiners` expectations.


I am very keen and motivated, patient, hard-working and quite flexible. I can help you whether you want to learn Spanish just for fun, for going on holiday or obtaining a qualification. I tailor my lessons to suit the learner, and my goal is to help my students to achieve their goals and more than they thought possible. I enjoy making people feel confident and accomplished about themselves through their academic achievements. I go the extra mile to give each one a personalized learning environment because I understand the challenges of learning languages at school. Learning languages without stepping outside of the classroom makes it often impossible to achieve a student`s full potential. Our memory is not programmed to remember words and sentence structures without understanding how they work, reviewing, and applying them. A little help in the right direction can be beneficial to both struggling and brilliant students.
