I am thrilled to share my extensive experience and passion for music with students who may be in need of a little extra support with their academic music studies. Whether they need support with GCSE, A-Level or Music Theory qualifications, I am happy to help. I have been a classroom teacher for the past 7 years spending 4 of those years as a Head of Music and the past two as a Head of Performing Arts in a sought after secondary school in the East Midlands.

I achieved my BMus Music degree in 2015 from Canterbury Christ Church University. My dedication to music and education led me to pursue my first education qualification, and I successfully completed a Postgraduate Diploma in Education (PGDE) in 2016. Continuing my development in Music Education, in 2022, I earned a MA Degree in Education 2022 achieving a commendation. This enabled me to explore and deepen my understanding of assessment and feedback practises specific to music education.

In my spare time I enjoy performing as an oboist, violinist and within a choir, I also love to go to the West End and watch a musical. Outside of my lifelong commitment to the arts, I`m a big Luton Town FC fan, holding a season ticket since I was 4 years old!

Experience: My teaching skills extend to both A-Level and GCSE curricula. For the past 7 years, I have been teaching AQA A-Level Music, offering comprehensive guidance in exam content, performance and composition areas of the course. My extensive knowledge of the course content enables me to support through all Areas of Study and across all three sections of the exam. Additionally, I am well-versed in tutoring composition across all A-Level music exam boards and supporting with repertoire choices for performance.

At GCSE level, I am proficient in teaching OCR, Eduqas, and AQA, making me well-equipped to tutor in any aspect of these courses needed. I am also able to support students with composition if they are studying Edexcel, ensuring they develop the creative skills necessary to excel.

I also have experience in teaching and preparing for ABRSM Grade 5 Theory online exams, necessary to take grade 6+ ABRSM qualifications having taken many students through this qualification in the past.
