My name is Immy and I am a 25 year old post-graduate student. I have an M.A. in psychoanalytic studies from Birkbeck, a B.A. in philosophy from Nottingham and a Diploma in the creative use of the Arts from The institute of Art and therapy education. I am currently in my training to become a child psychotherapist.

My advanced higher education makes me a very engaging tutor as I am passionate about education and think learning should be a collaborate confidence building process! I am a kind high energy tutor who is committed to helping students fall in love with the learning process and enable themselves to achieve the results children parents and adult learners are after. I have worked with children in various capacities through teaching, nannying and tutoring in the past and have always applied a person centred adaptive approach focusing on the specific needs of individual.

My therapeutic training allows me to incorporate the patience and warmth that enables a positive learning environment.

I work closely with parents as well as the children to create a studying environment that suits the child whilst helping them to achieve their fullest academic potential.

Availability: As I am a part-time student and Nanny my availability is very flexible. With the exception of Tuesdays and weekends when I have university.

Experience: I have a masters degree in psychoanalytic studies and a BA in Philosophy and am currently in the middle of my second MA training to be a child psychotherapist. I have worked as a tutor throughout my degrees with children ranging from the ages of 6 -16 yrs old. I have experience with children with learning difficulties and have adapted a style of teaching that incorporates the specific learning style of each child and adapts to their learning needs, as a posed to a one size fits all approach.
I have tutored several students for their GCSEs as well as supported younger children with reading, writing and creative projects. I have a diploma in the creative use of the arts so am very good at making tutoring not just an educational process but a creative and enjoyable one too!
