Tharanyaa

My name is Tharanyaa, and I am an Aeronautical Engineering graduate from the University of Glasgow, now working as a Modelling and Simulation Engineer at BAE Systems. I have a strong academic background in Maths, Physics, and English, and I’m passionate about making complex topics clear, engaging, and accessible.

Through both my engineering studies and professional work, I have developed strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills, which I bring into my tutoring. I enjoy helping students gain confidence in their own abilities, whether they are building strong foundations, preparing for competitive entrance exams, or looking to stretch themselves further.

My tutoring approach is patient, encouraging, and structured. I tailor each session to the student’s pace, learning style, and goals, making sure they feel supported while also being challenged appropriately. I have worked with students preparing for competitive entrance exams as well as those aiming to improve their general academic performance.

Outside of tutoring and engineering, I’m an avid reader, a keen musician, and I enjoy mentoring others through STEM-related activities.

Experience: I have over 8 years of experience delivering one-to-one tuition for students preparing for the 7+ and 11+ entrance exams, as well as those in Key Stage 3. My sessions are carefully structured around each student’s individual needs- whether building core skills in Maths and English for younger learners, or guiding older students through verbal/non-verbal reasoning and exam techniques. I’m familiar with the requirements of competitive independent and grammar schools, and I place a strong emphasis on developing problem-solving, comprehension, and reasoning skills, alongside confidence and consistency. I regularly track progress through tailored assessments and feedback, adapting my teaching approach to ensure lasting understanding.
