Information about Robert

I am an Oxford University graduate and tutor who has competence and experience teaching a broad range of subjects and age groups, from English and Maths for 7+, 8+, 11+ and 13+ exams, English Literature and History A level and GCSE, Singing lessons (ages 6-22), and music theory (Grades 1-5). I am currently a Graduate Co-Teacher at Ark Conway Primary Academy, an Ofsted Outstanding school in White City.

In my capacity as a tutor, I prepare tailor-made resources and exam papers for each client, including differentiation. In addition, I will regularly assess, record and monitor the client’s progress and communicate to parents, tracking progress. I have a strong track record working with a broad range of clients, including children with special educational needs.

Availability: I am currently fairly flexible, but have availability:

Monday: 6-8.30pm
Thursday: 5.30-8.30pm

I have some slots available on other days but these are the main areas I am currently looking to fill.

Willing to travel: 10 miles

Experience: I have tutored professionally since 2015, and have particular proficiency and experience working with GCSE and A level students for English Literature and Language. I have also worked extensively with pupils preparing for the 11+ and 13+ entrance exams. Last academic year I was a residential tutor based in Dorset, tutoring a 15 year old as he fast tracked IGCSE English Literature and Language.

Between February and July of 2020 I was a teaching assistant for years 5 and 6 at Dallington School, an independent school whose ethos is based around student-led, topic-based learning. In my time at Dallington I worked with small groups and one-to-one learning environments and interventions on a daily basis. I also gained experience working with a broad profile of learners, including children with dyslexia, dyspraxia, and ADD. Enacted interventions and care-plans with teachers and SENDCO.
In addition I developed mentoring experience: building strong and supportive relationships with pupils, developing a warm and positive manner; learning how to enrich their lives, inspire, and bring joy.
In this role I prepared unique resources for different abilities across KS2, and ensured children met academic targets of school by tracking results and identifying long-term goals.
