Information about Edmund
I was educated at Magdalen College School, Oxford - where I held a Major Academic Scholarship and gained straight A*s at GCSE and A Level - and graduated in 2017 with a Double First Class Honours BA degree in Ancient and Modern History from the University of Oxford. I then pursued postgraduate research, graduating in 2018 with a Distinction in the Late Antique and Byzantine Studies MSt (also from Oxford). Since then I have been undertaking legal training and will commence pupillage in London in 2021. My degrees stand me in good stead to teach History, the Classical languages, and Theology. In addition, I am able to tutor English Literature to A Level standard, and the Sciences, French and Mathematics to GCSE standard. I am happy to coach candidates for Oxbridge entrance, having been through the admissions process twice successfully myself.
My main extracurricular interest is debating, having won a number of national titles. I am also interested in current affairs, literature and sport (preferably played badly)

Experience: I have extensive experience in the education sector. As an undergraduate, I undertook tutoring work preparing students for Oxbridge entrance. All of my students were successful in their applications. I also have experience in tutoring Latin, Greek, History and English Literature to A Level standard, as well as Theology to GCSE standard. I have prepared 7 students to take the 11+ (6 of whom were successful), and have experience of prepping candidates for scholarship examinations. Furthermore, I was employed by a local school as a debating coach, providing intensive one-on-one training as well as more general sessions. My students won one national competition, and reached the finals of several others. I also volunteered with an educational charity, working with local disadvantaged school children.
I prepare carefully for lessons, and flatter myself that I am swift in the identification of any particular difficulties. I am enthusiastic, and like - whenever possible - to impart some of my enthusiasm for my subjects to my students. I am approachable, but firm when necessary.
