Greetings! You may know me as Dr. Sam, but please, there`s no need for such formality. Sam is just fine! Following a successful stretch in my STEM career, I`ve been yearning to return to my first love, teaching.

My academic journey led me to earn a PhD, two Masters, and an undergraduate degree in STEM, all of which solidified my love for this field. As a proud Professional Member of the Institute of Materials, Minerals, and Mining, I am incredibly passionate about many subjects, starting from Pre-GCSE and beyond. My ultimate goal is to make the scientific and technological world readable, accessible, and enjoyable. During my free time, you`d often find me deeply immersed in the industry, aiding in the design of intriguing engineering structures from John O`Groats to Land`s End.

I can empathise with those who find academic subjects challenging at times. My diagnosis of dyslexia and dyspraxia during my undergraduate study enabled me to devise adaptable and efficient revision techniques to overcome such hurdles.

Being a person who never shies away from pursuing chances, I`ve dabbled in numerous roles over the years, from a University Examination Invigilator to a Lecturer, Admissions Support Helper, Campus Guide, and Accommodation Rep. I`m currently affiliated with the Cardiff University Executive Education Group and serve as a Police Independent Advisor. In the rare moments I have to myself, you might glimpse me hunting for fossils along the shoreline!

Regarding availability, my schedule has recently opened up, having chosen to renter tutoring after a few years` hiatus to delve deeper into my career. I am available for sessions most evenings and during weekends. I look forward to embarking on this educational journey with you!

Experience: For nearly a decade, I`ve had the unique privilege of dedicating myself to the world of education, specifically tutoring students from GCSE up to the degree level. My journey as an educator at the University saw me encounter an exciting array of students - from a Thai Prince and budding officers of the Royal Omani Fleet to many others with remarkable profiles.

This eclectic mix broadened my horizons and equipped me with a wealth of experience in supporting students to unlock their potential. My forte lies in teaching STEM-based courses that cater to students of all skill levels and abilities. Being dyslexic, I understand the labyrinth of educational hurdles and am adept at creating unique pathways to overcome them, enabling students to succeed.

Over the years, I have joyfully witnessed numerous students elevate from GCSE to A Level and even to degree and master-level subjects. My proudest moments include helping students transition from an `E` Grade in Maths to a `B`, or `U` grade to an `A` in Psychology, and watching struggling undergraduates conquer their third-year exams with flying colours!

Previously involved with university admissions, I am well-equipped to offer comprehensive support for creating impactful CVs and Personal Statements for UKAS and assist with significant tasks such as dissertation and thesis research and writing.

As a Police Independent Advisor, I welcome individuals on day-release programs seeking tuition, assuring personalised and respectful assistance for all.
