Hello! I’m a Surrey-based Science tutor specialising in Biology. I have tutored pupils across a wide range of Key Stages and from 8-17 years old. I studied Natural Sciences at the University of Cambridge and specialised in Neurobiology and Psychology.

My particular focus is on tutoring for science-subject GCSEs and A Levels, as well as UCAS university admissions and personal statements. However, I have also helped younger pupils who struggle with Science or Maths.

As a native English speaker, I have also taught English as a foreign language while studying abroad in Japan. This experience means I am very comfortable with tutoring international pupils. Furthermore, I speak a good conversational level of French and Japanese.

My aim as a tutor is to deliver a personalised experience which will be suited as well as possible to my individual pupils’ needs and goals. To me, this means not only adapting my teaching to suit, for example, different exam boards, but also to my pupil’s learning style and areas of strength and weakness. For all my pupils, I utilise spaced review and re-testing, which is evidenced to be key for long-term retention and therefore for success in exams and beyond.

Experience: 4 years` intermittent experience tutoring pupils aged 8-17 in Science subjects, Mathematics, university admissions and, on occasion, English as a foreign language.

1 year volunteering at LinkAble, providing activities for children with learning disabilities.

3 years volunteering at Girl Guiding UK, organising and running educational and cultural activities for girls aged 10-15.
