Information about Sarah
Hello to introduce myself:
I`m an experienced teacher and lecturer in English, Media and Film Studies, and qualified as a secondary school teacher (PGCE) at the Institute of Education specializing in English and Theatre Studies. I`m currently studying for a 2nd MA in Teaching English as a Foreign Language.
I have a B.A in English and an M.A in Film and Visual Media. I`ve been working as a teacher and lecturer for 10 years and have taught from Year 7 up to undergraduate degree level students. Some of the specialist areas I have worked in are teaching exam techniques and essay writing skills as well as working with dyslexic students and student who are learning English as a second language, as such I have a range of materials that can suit a range of students` learning needs.
I`ve got recent experience in teaching English GCSE and AS/A2 English Lit and Language, but also I trained a few years ago as a literacy teacher and have also worked in community education working frequently with adults as well as younger people.
I have had previous experience of tutoring while I was an M.A student, an have experience of teaching across the exam boards (AQA, OCR. EdExcel and WJEC. ) Although I have made the decision to stop working in main stream education , that does n`t mean that I have stopped wanted to use my teaching skills. Teaching has always been a vocation and there`s nothing more satisfying than seeing a student go on a learning curve and achieve their aims, also knowing that I had played a part.
Availability: Thursday and Tuesday morning. Saturday afternoons. Possibility of some weekday evenings.

8 years experience working in HE as a lecturer.
