Do you need a tutor who will help build confidence and help to develop a love for learning? I am a massive believer in making learning creative and enjoyable to ensure the best results. One of the most important aspects of tutoring is to build a healthy relationship with the student to ensure they are comfortable learning while also encouraging them to give their best effort.
I am currently an `outstanding` (observations to support) primary school teacher in a school in Hemel Hempstead. I am an experienced tutor with excellent results.
I am Maths Subject Leader and Upper KS 2 leader at the school. Throughout my teaching years, I have kept up to date with the changes in the curriculum and understand how to ensure accelerated progress in children. I have experience tutoring children with strong results and can work effectively to improve pupils` mathematical understanding, as well as helping with their writing and grammar understanding.
My highlights from tutoring include: increasing a reluctant mathematician in year 6 from a level 3 to a level 5 (old curriculum) ensuring that two students this year working well below age related expectations, are working at age related expectations for maths and one for English as well tutoring numerous pupils to pass their eleven plus and developing a love for maths when it was previously lacking in some pupils!
I am also a keen sportsperson and was an international hockey player, having played for the full Irish squad.

Update: Achieved above national norms results for KS2 results in Maths (91% achieving age-related) and English. I am also taking on a new role in a local private school, which will further develop my understanding of 11 plus.
