The reason I wanted to become is a tutor is because I personally think having a 1 to 1 session can really benefit a child and help boost their confidence in that subject. I have had many tutors before therefore, from personal experience, I have learnt many methods that do and don’t work.

I studied Maths, Further Maths and Business studies for A level I am very passionate about maths and able to teach it at both a complex and basic level. I received an 8 in GCSE Maths and an A in A level maths. I received a B in both Business Studies and Further Maths A level.

I am currently going to Surrey University to study Mathematics.

I have always enjoyed English and loved learning about different texts and interpretations. I received a 6 in both English Literature and Language.

Experience: I worked at explore learning which focuses on tutoring children between the age 5-14. I tutored a group of 6 kids of all ages at different levels. This taught me how to manage my time between all kids and notice all their strengths and weaknesses. It taught me how quickly I am able to pick things up as I would automatically know when each kid was struggling and who needed more help.

At the moment, I tutor a 5 year old child maths, reading, phonics and handwriting. I teach him a range of topics to make learning fun and interesting for him. By doing this he enjoys me coming round and teaching him.

I also tutor a child maths as she is preparing for her SATs. I tutor her in topics that she struggles with along with testing her knowledge to see what topics she finds difficult. I have also created many questions and posters to make learning easier for her e.g. learning timetables, long division and etc.
