Information about Octavia

I hold an BA in Art Psychotherapy (Psychosocial Studies) from Goldsmiths University of London, and a Diploma of Art and Design from Ara Institute Fine Art Programme, Christchurch, New Zealand (formerly known as CPIT). I worked as a Mental Health facilitator for a social enterprise, States of Mind, which set out to empower secondary school students and equip them with the tools necessary to explore and embrace personal and community mental health.

For the last decade I have worked as an artist, making paintings, drawings, and installations, and I have exhibited in galleries across Britain and New Zealand. I also enjoy facilitating workshops for marginalised folks, which I see as a vital part of my work as an artist, teacher, therapist in training and human being.

After completing my BA (Honours), I was awarded a first, while on my undergraduate course, my final essay for Theoretical Art Psychotherapy was awarded 98%. I also achieved merit for my Diploma in Art and Design.

In my spare time, I love reading, nature, playing music (I produce an online radio show once a month).
