Tutoring isn`t an addition to my main profession. Tutoring IS my profession. I have been a successful, professional tutor for 20 years and have been featured in national newspapers.
My students do not fail. My students` success is my success and I believe that the secret of my 100% pass rate is the fact that I tutor in a way that speaks directly to the student; to their current state of subject knowledge and understanding in addition to the student`s individual learning style.
I work to the student`s individual curriculum, provide high-quality, up-to-date notes and operate on the basis of continuous assessment; hence I test knowledge as my students work through the course rather than leaving things to the exam period. My students find this to be hugely beneficial!
Many of my former students have successful careers as writers, solicitors, barristers and in the exciting fields of legal compliance and marketing.
In 2017 & 2018 my A level students, achieved places at prestigious universities including: UCL, Exeter, Bristol, Leeds, Durham, Manchester, Exeter, Nottingham and Warwick to study Law, English and Politics. My graduating law students have finished with 2:1`s and 1sts, with one of my students receiving the `Outstanding Student of The Year Award`.
I am easy to get along with and I am told I have a great sense of humour but make no mistake, I expect much of my students! When students apply my teaching to their studies, they do very well; surpassing their own expectations and often the expectations of teachers and parents!

My son struggled with starting an essay in both English Literature and RE. Jan was excellent in showing him how to structure his thoughts. Within two sessions, he was enthusiastic about English and RE. After about 5 sessions, he is the highest achieving child in his class. He believes he is capable to achieve an excellent outcome. Jan has been excellent in tutoring me in A level Government and Politics in my final term. She has provided detailed (and personalised) notes as well as useful knowledge about essay structure and exam technique. She has also been helpful between sessions by marking essays that I have sent her with detailed improvements.
I look forward to our remaining few sessions together as I approach my final exams.

Jan is an excellent tutor who is very knowledgeable and conveys her knowledge of complex material in a manner easily understandable. I am a 3rd year LLB Law student and Jan made sure I was well prepared for my exam. A session with her really motivates me and I would highly recommend her.
Jan truly CARES and wants you to succeed and I have experienced other tutors who are only concerned about delivering in the session but Jan goes above and beyond to support you and ensure that you succeed.
Jan is extremely knowledgeable in a wide range of subjects and she never ever judges and that is what makes a great tutor; one u can ask your silliest questions to and not be afraid to say ‘I don’t get it’. I have pretended to understand in front of tutors in the past just so I am not made to feel stupid in front of them but that is not the case with Jan at all, she is truly empowering and explains in a way that truly makes it clear.
I will continue to have more sessions with Jan as it has helped my Law degree immensely.

Jan is perfect. I can’t imagine there is any other tutor for whom my son would be so willing to leave the house on a Saturday morning. He is getting so much out of his weekly tutor sessions for his Government & Politics and History. Jan is not only getting him on track for these A levels, but also her mentoring approach seems likely to enhance his performance in university interviews and help his critical thinking in a way that will stand him in good stead for his adult life.

Jan was helpful on the first assignment I did with her guidance. I was very disappointed that I did not get a response from her for the second assignment despite leaving several messages on her phone and email.

Carol came to me and I helped her as requested.Indeed I went overboard in helping her.
I did not hear from Carol for several months, and when she did contact me, I was in hospital having surgery. Moreover, I did respond, but as she had requested my help at the last minute, in the circumstances I was unable to help.
Given, the above it is my belief that Carol`s feedback is unwarranted.

When I asked Jan to be my tutor I was impressed with how Jan arranged everything for our sessions and took the time to get to know me. Jan`s interpersonal skills are world class and I always leave our sessions with a renewed confidence that anything is possible.
I came to see Jan shortly before my end of year exams this year and the techniques Jan used really helped me to focus more and grasp quite complex concepts. Since meeting Jan I believe in my academic ability more and Jan makes learning simple and even fun.
If you want to achieve a high level of academic excellence Jan is the one for you. I am so impressed with her dedication to her craft and her natural ability to teach and guide me as a student. You will not be disappointed.

Jan is a PHENOMENAL tutor. When I had first met her she told me that her tutees are her priority - something I can undoubtedly confirm as I have had a first had experience with her talent. Jan has qualities of a good tutor and a mentor too. She knows how to encourage and support others to achieve their goals. Jan knows how to modify her teaching strategies according to your subjects. Moreover, she is concerned with developing your critical thinking skills and problem-solving skills. She has so many qualities and skills that make her a good teacher, I will just mention a few:

I have been tutored by Mrs Jan for a while now and i am amazed the way she does her tutorials. I can say that Jan does her tutoring with great determination and unlike other tutors she is the most reliable person ive ever come across. She is a very friendly person and she`s definitely up to the standard of a brilliant and serious tutor. What i like most with Mrs JAn is that she is not just like one of those freshly graduated students who are up to some extra money by teaching without even knowing what is tutoring. She is actually a matured and dedicated lecturer with a proper command in teaching and language. Most of all, she never cancels tuition uselessly. Since ive started tutorials, ive never had a lesson cancelled which proved that Mrs Jan is commited.I would strongly recommend her as a tutor and believe me i am talking from experiences i had with some previous tutors that i came across over the net.
