I`m a friendly and enthusiastic former John Hampden Grammar School student, starting medical school towards the end of 2018.
I have a wide academic experience and a keen interest in the sciences - I competed in the Chemistry Olympiad & the British Physics Olympiad while in the Sixth Form, achieving Gold and Silver awards respectively.
I am dedicated to helping my students to achieve excellent exam results, and encourage enjoyment of their subjects.

Having recently performed exceptionally well in my GCSEs and A levels, I have up to date subject knowledge and recent, first hand experience of succeeding in examinations:

A level : A* A* A* A* (in Maths, Biology, Chemistry and Physics)


My goal with every student is to ensure that they exceed or meet their grade targets, whilst also encouraging enjoyment of their subjects. With students who are finding their subjects challenging, I find it very rewarding to help them to discover that they have the ability to achieve more highly than they believe is within their capabilities.

When teaching, I aim to quickly identify misunderstandings and areas that need some improvement in student`s work. Building on the individual strengths of the student, and their unique learning style, I can then focus my teaching on these subject areas. I have found implementing recap sessions of previously taught material, at the beginning of each lesson, to be a very effective tool in reinforcing knowledge and understanding of material.
I like to keep the students engaged and asking questions as much as possible. It is important to me that they have a solid understanding of the subject, in addition to being able to answer exam questions successfully.

Experience: As an A level student, the head of physics selected me to teach a number of physics lessons to sixth form classes. During my time at school I also gained plentiful experience providing one-to-one support to students in younger years.

This year I have been working as a Learning Support Assistant at John Hampden Grammar School. At this high achieving grammar school, I provide academic support to pupils with Special Educational Needs. This has developed my ability to tailor teaching to the specific capabilities and needs of the pupil.

I also volunteer at Horizons Sports Club. This is a club for children with disabilities such as Down’s Syndrome and Autistic Spectrum Disorder. This can be challenging at times but has also been incredibly rewarding. The experience has really enhanced my interpersonal and communication skills.
