Information about Peter
I am currently in the 4th year of my BMus, Music Performance Degree, at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance studying under the guidance of Tony Cross and Andrew Hendrie.
I have covered a wide range of musical styles in my playing career so far including: brass band, wind band, classical brass chamber music, pop music, musical theatre, big band and church music. In that time, I have performed at various prestigious venues including: The Royal Albert Hall, Birmingham Symphony Hall, Birmingham Town Hall, Saint John Smith Square and Cadogan Hall. When I am not performing, I thoroughly enjoy arranging and composition, having previously achieved commissions for my work.
Availability: I am available to teach one to one lessons on Monday, Thursday and Friday during the day. I am also free Saturday mornings.
Willing to travel: 8 miles
Experience: I have conducted brass ensembles with ages ranging across primary and secondary school as well as shadowing my instrumental teacher in one to one lessons. As part of my degree course, I have lead school workshops around the borough of Greenwich.
Tutoring Approach:
I seek great enjoyment out of playing the trumpet and creating music and this passion is something that I wish to pass on to others. Since studying under the guidance of trumpet professor and Alexander Technique teacher, Tony Cross, I have become greatly interested in the physics and the psychology behind playing the trumpet. This is something I try to incorporate in my lessons.
I have gone through the ABRSM graded music system myself and am comfortable teaching students who wish to sit examined practical and music theory grades.
I am also more than happy to teach those who wish to learn on a more recreational level.
