Information about Amy
I love teaching, but gave up being a secondary school maths teacher due to the non teaching components of the job. I went immediately into tutoring, and have kept up a solid number of tutoring hours and students a week from that time until I moved to Lincolnshire. I am now settled and building my tutoring base up again.
I enjoy tutoring across the range of subjects - 11+, Maths and English as it gives variety. Students have come for a number of reasons, from a lack of confidence, to specific issues/topics, to missed years of the syllabus. I love the characters of my students, and some have stayed with me for over 5 years (or left and returned between 11+ and GCSE).
I prefer to teach in my own home, as I find that being out of their home environment helps the student with their concentration, but this can be flexible. I have a dog and 2 cats, all friendly, but worth knowing in case of allergies!
Availability: Monday - 5pm - 9pm
Wednesday - 5pm - 9pm
Thursday - 6.30pm - 9pm
There is the potential to do weekend hours in special circumstances, or nearing exams

Experience: I am an ex teacher who has been tutoring for 8 years. I specialise in Maths (up to and including A level), English (up to and including GCSE) and the 11+ exams. I have full experience of teaching a full syllabus or exam preparation. I have a Maths degree (1st with honours) and a teaching degree.

Amy has delivered support way beyond our expectations- we would not hesitate to recommend her services. She is professional, prompt, courteous, everything you would expect as standard, but then her teaching methods and personality raise the bar to a level above what we had anticipated. To see our son`s development in terms of ability and confidence has been an absolute joy. Right from the first lesson we had absolute faith in Amy and that has not wavered at all. So, our exceptions have been exceeded, and our son has just taken everything that Amy offered and run with it- his nervousness at the first lesson was gone within five minutes and by the end he was asking for at least 3 lessons a week!! We are confident our educational goals will have been met by the lessons with Amy, but beyond that a new confidence has been gained and that is invaluable.
