Information about Lucy

I am an experienced tutor who has been tutoring on and off for seven years. I have tutored children of pre-school and primary age, helping students with homework or improving on certain subjects like English or Maths, or helping them gain places at competitive prepatory schools.

I have also tutored secondary age pupils, tutoring GCSE English, Maths and Triple Science, and A Level (English and History). I have also provided coaching with personal statements and CVs.

I have a strong record - whether its getting students into competitive schools, or helping them achieve excellent GCSE results. One of my pupils who was scoring below average with Triple Science and Maths prior to her GCSEs finished with all A*s and As.

I am a patient, empathetic tutor, who has tutored children with different abilities and needs (some of my pupils have found the school environment challenging with concentration and ADHD), and learnt to create my own materials, activities and methods of teaching according to their style of learning. I am DBS-checked and have training working with young people - from CAMHS training to helping young people run their own campaigns.

I am an English graduate from Wadham College, Oxford University, where I studied between 2012-2015, achieving a 2:1. Whilst there I ran English taster classes for visiting schools, and in my holidays was employed by various summer schools - Crimson Summer Exchange, Cambridge Programmes and Oxford Royale - providing high-quality academic and pastoral mentoring, and also administrative work.

Experience: I have seven years` tutoring experience. I have tutored children of pre-school and primary age, helping students with homework in all areas or improving on certain subjects like English or Maths, or helping them gain places at competitive prepatory schools.

I have also tutored secondary age pupils, tutoring GCSE English, Maths and Triple Science, and A Level (English and History). I have also provided coaching with personal statements and CVs.

**International Summer School Teacher**
Between 2013 and 2014 I worked for two international summer schools. I worked for Cambridge Programmes in 2013 as a teacher and mentor to international students aged 13-15 hoping to go to Russell Group universities. I taught English, Drama, and provided university entrance coaching (exams, personal statements, interviews).

In 2014 I worked for Crimson Summer Exchange at Hong Kong University as part of a small team of undergraduates selected from Oxford, Cambridge, Princeton, Harvard and Columbia University. I taught English, Drama, Public Speaking and Cultural Studies to prospective Ivy League students aged 13-18. I also coached CV and personal statement work.

**Access Ambassador**
Whilst at university (Wadham College, University of Oxford, 2012-2015), I worked as an Access Ambassador, creating and providing taster classes in English Language and Literature to secondary school students from underprivileged schools. These classes aimed to spark the imagination and curiosity of bright students and awaken them to the possibility of applying to a university like Oxford or Cambridge.

My daughter has taken to Lucy. She’s an amazing person and tutor.
Lucy has excellent communication skills, my daughter has learnt more ways to learn algebra and other techniques to make her learn easily.
Great find
