I am currently gaining experience and working towards gaining a degree to become a fully qualified teacher. My degree specialises in Mathematics.

I have very personal knowledge of just how hard Mathematics can be for some people: a close family member of mine has ASD and Dyscalculia – they have had tremendous struggles with understanding and processing numbers. I know how much patience and repetition is required, and the need for multiple strategies to help them comprehend.

On the other hand, I also have a younger brother who is much younger than myself – still in primary school, he is brilliant at maths and we have enjoyed exploring his love of numbers together. I understand the need to differentiate between teaching styles to accommodate both of these types of students and I enjoy the different conceptual challenges of teaching to children of these ages.

Experience: For several years, I have tutored children from Primary through to GCSE. I have also volunteered with my local Girl Guides and Brownies for approximately seven years, been a student teacher in several primary schools and have recently started my own tutoring business, meaning I have plenty of experience working with children of different ages.
