Information about Helen

Hello, my name is Helen, I have recently fulfilled a personal vocation and retrained as a Primary School teacher, completing my PGCE at Bath Spa University. Prior to this I have spent the past 20 years privately tutoring children and adults in piano and art lessons and after taking a DTLLS qualification, I taught art master classes in a local FE college.
I am a passionate and dedicated teacher with a wealth of experience, who takes immense pride in my work and who has excellent time keeping skills. I thoroughly enjoy delivering enjoyable and engaging lessons that cater to each child`s unique needs and progression, and I make it a priority to tailor every session specifically to the individual child. I possess patience and care, and I`m always willing to go the extra mile to support children`s learning and development.

My primary focus as an teacher is to ensure that every child is actively engaged and interested and I achieve this by providing a diverse range of activities and games that stimulate curiosity and foster a genuine love for learning. I am currently seeking to tutor children who may require additional assistance in areas such as phonics, reading, maths, Science or any foundational subjects at primary level. I also have considerable experience working with children and Adults with SEND and worked for the National Autistic Society for 3 years.

I can provide the following:

Hands-on learning using a variety of resources
Clear and simplified explanations
A fun and interactive approach to learning
Additional activities for students to work on at home, if desired

I am happy to support and tutor children in Early Years, Key Stage 1 (KS1), and Key Stage 2 (KS2).
I am open to short-term or one-off bookings and am available for online tutoring. If you are local, I can also provide in-person tutoring and am available through out the summer holidays

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me and I will do my best to accommodate you.

Willingness to travel: I can travel up to 10 miles.
