My name is Erica and I was born in Granada, Spain. I moved to England in September 2010 and I now live here permanently. I have been travelling around England in the past few years but I am now settled in Wakefield, West Yorkshire. I love it here!

I have been teaching Spanish in both private and state schools and online to adults and teenagers over the past 11 years. I am a qualified teacher (native speaker) & I am really passionate about teaching languages to students from all backgrounds and exchanging cultural experiences with them.

I have had students from all over the world and I really enjoy getting to know people and different lifestyles as well as sharing my knowledge of Spanish. I am a languages learner myself as I am currently learning German as well as keeping upskilling my French. Because of this, I am very familiarised with teaching strategies and approaches and I am very patient and flexible as I understand everyone learns at a different pace and in a different way. I am also very positive and energetic so my enthusiasm will be contagious!!!

I can easily adapt all my lessons to the different learning styles of my students. I am fun and I ensure that all my lessons are engaging and interesting.

Experience: I have an English Studies Degree as well as a MA Degree in English Applied Linguistics, both from the University of Granada. I learnt about different teaching techniques and methods that are effective in learning a second language. As part of this, I did some teaching practice at university where I had to deliver a module to university students. This was a fantastic opportunity as I learnt how to keep my pupils engaged at all times.

I also hold the Qualified Teacher Status as I completed the School Direct Teacher Training (Spanish & French) by the University of Reading, England. I can teach Spanish to any level! I could help you with grammar, pronunciation, conversation... I am very confident that I can help you to improve quickly and effectively. I have taught lots of students to date and they have all had very good results!

For over 11 years I have been teaching Spanish in different schools across the UK. I have worked in three different private schools in England where I helped students improve their speaking skills. I really enjoyed this as I felt I could help lots of students have a positive mindset about learning languages and achieve their goals.

I have also worked in three different state schools where I have constantly learnt and improved my teaching strategies since I have observed a great variety of teachers and attended specific training sessions to keep my teaching up to date. I am constantly researching in order to develop my career as a teacher and I love giving a go to new fresh ideas!

Currently, I am a Second in MFL (Spanish & French) in a secondary school in Wakefield. This is my third year working here and I absolutely love it. I teach Spanish to all year groups, starting with Y7 up to A-Level, and French to KS4. I have the opportunity of working with different teachers to ensure that we provide bespoke education.

Previously, I spent some years teaching English as a second language in Spain, teaching students who needed some support but also those who were preparing for an exam. My experiences were wonderful as I also made really good friends!
