Hi. I am a professional writer and academic with a special interest in poetry and close reading. As well as A level and degree level English Literature, I support academic writing for undergraduate essays and theses in the creative arts, and across the humanities and social sciences.

I can help you craft a really effective UCAS personal statement and also support EPQ written work.

My teaching style is supportive and committed and always focused on the particular strengths, challenges and learning styles of each individual learner.

I have taught literature and creative writing at the University of Exeter and the University of Bristol. I have a PhD and MA, and I have published research on poetry and visual art, the lyric, pastoral, Sylvia Plath, Emily Dickinson and others. My creative writing is widely published in the UK and US.

I help artists contextualise and write about their work, and I can often be found in an art gallery, or sitting in a cafe with a cup of tea and a notebook.
