Approachable, Knowledgeable and Experienced. I have been graded an Outstanding Teacher (Grade 1) using the Ofsted framework every year.

My approach to teaching is to use a variety of different resources and teaching styles to try to appeal to all learners. I try to use innovative and interactive resources such as Kahoot and Quizlet and often like to use flipped learning in the classroom. I use lots of past paper questions to assess work and use the marks schemes with students so students know exactly how they are performing. I give both verbal and written feedback regularly to students on how they can improve and praise where it is deserved. I think it is important to capture the imagination of students. As a teacher I consider myself professional and have high expectations of myself and of my students. Within the classroom I believe I am a good communicator who adopts a variety of teaching methods to cater for individual needs. I use visual, auditory and kinaesthetic methods with my students and I believe the development of student skills is crucial to their progress, not only for A Levels but for their progression to Higher Education or employment.

I regularly use key word and case recap exercises to aid the development of key terminology. I have also developed interactive resources to aid recall and spend a significant time on exam and essay writing technique. My teaching has regularly received very positive feedback. It the most recent student survey, I was Graded `Outstanding`(1) and achieved 100% student satisfaction. Student feedback on the teaching, assessment and support provided by me on the A Level Law course are always extremely positive.

Experience: I have been a teacher of A level and GCSE level for 8 years, having gained my PGCE in Post Compulsory Education and Training from Edge Hill University. This followed gaining an LLB Hons (Law) degree from Manchester Metropolitan University. Part of this degree included a module of Criminology.

The last 7 years has seen me teach A Level Law, Critical Thinking, EPQ, BTEC Business, GCSE English and Functional Skills English.
