Hi,

My name is Maryam. I am a fifth year Medical student at [contact detail removed]

. My academic record is impressive, having achieved 10A* at GCSE and I subsequently achieved A levels in Biology (A*), Chemistry (A) and Maths (A). I also have a BA in Medical Sciences which I achieved at the end of my 3rd year of Medical school.

As a person I am very friendly and light-hearted so students would feel at ease in my lessons. In order to achieve my place to study Medicine at Oxford, I have shown myself to be extremely hard-working and organised, traits I also believe to be pivotal for a good tutor. As will be mentioned in the `experience` section, my previous tutoring experience has shown me to be a very adaptable person, who is able to adapt her approach to suit the needs of different students.

Experience: I have previous tutoring experience, having taught students studying 11+, KS3, GCSE and A-Levels . I have thus displayed my versatility as I am able to adapt my teaching style to suit the requirements of different students. I have an excellent understanding of the syllabus and I am understanding and sympathetic to the needs of my students.

As a tutor I focus heavily on the syllabus and work methodically through it. This ensures my student is ready for all areas of their exam. Prior to beginning our lessons, I would like to set a short introductory test as this will be a good indicator of their current level. Using this, my student and I can set targets for their development and goals.
