My name is Leah, and I am a Primary trained Class Teacher and Key Stage Leader.

I am an experienced tutor, preparing children for phonics screening, Year 2 and Year 6 SATs and 11+.

I studied for my BA degree in English Literature and Classical Studies, at the University of Reading, to which I received a 2:1.

I then when on to train for a PGCE General Primary also at the University of Reading. I received a Distinction in my teaching practice and a merit in my academic studies.

I am very caring and calm in my approach to teaching, and promote relfectiveness and perseverance in my students.

As I am currently working in Islington, I am happy to work after school hours and to travel to you.

Availability: Weekday evenings and weekends.

Experience: I have been teaching in Primary schools in London for 10 years. I have experience teaching in Years 1-6.

Two years ago I was appointed Key Stage 1 leader, therefore I have experience of getting children through Phonics Screening Check and Key Stage 1 SATS.

Last year I had the role of Key Stage 2 lead and Year 6 teacher, and have a very good understanding of the expectations for children obtaining their Key Stage 2 SATS. We had a successful year of results this year. I also supported a tutee through their year 6 SATS to which she gained fantastic results.

I am now returning to Year 2 as the Key Stage 1 leader.

As I am a class teacher, I have a wide subject knowledge of all the core and foundation subjects. Due to my English Literature degree, I specialise in Literacy tutoring. I thoroughly enjoy teaching Maths and have had many maths tutees, including preparation for Year 2 and Year 6 SATS and 11+
