Information about Caroline
I am a teacher with over 30 years experience in primary, middle and secondary schools. I am currently a Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Coordinator in a local school.
I approach every child as an individual with their own strengths and areas of need. I carry out informal as well as standardised assessments at the start of the tutoring process and set targets for success with each child. I believe every child can succeed with patient, carefully planned teaching and that it is the tutor`s job to ensure that the level of challenge is just right.
Availability: I am available to tutor on most evenings of the week and can also tutor through the school holidays. This is particularly relevant when working with children on improving their handwriting, as an intensive course over a week or two weeks can be very effective.
Willing to travel: 2 miles
Experience: I have experience of teaching across the primary curriculum but have a particular specialism and interest in helping children with their reading, spelling and handwriting. I have regularly taught children with dyslexia and dyspraxia as well as children who need more time to process language or who have lost confidence in their abilities due to early difficulties.
