Information about Rhys
My name is Rhys. I am from Ireland but have been living in the UK for 8 years. I enjoy working with young people, and on a daily basis my job is extremely rewarding. Its brilliant seeing young people grow and flourish. I studied an undergraduate degree in Physical and Sport education at St. Marys University Twickenham London. I completed a PGCE in secondary PE at Kingston University London.
I have a reputation for fostering high expectations in the classroom and I believe that I can create a fun, interactive and professional environmental in each tutoring session. It has been noted in observations that I have the ability to notice students learning behaviours which allows me to provide a personalised learning environment for my students. I am super organised and take planning and preparation very seriously however I received feedback from work colleagues that have notice my ability to adapt my teaching style to meet the learners needs and wants.
I have an additional qualification ASA Level 1 and 2 swim teacher with 7 years teaching experience, teaching age ranges between 3 year olds to adults. Additionally providing one to one swim coaching to students with special educational needs such as autism. I have delivered CPD sessions to other swim teachers on accessing, understanding students needs and wants in order to achieve student maximum potential. Furthermore I have achieved a National Pool lifeguard qualification and I have delivered CPD to individuals who wish to renew their qualification.
I am results-driven and believe in offering the maximum support possible to every child, prioritising their long-term growth and development.
I have a talent for using relevant, real-world examples to creatively bring lessons to life for students and keep them engaged. I am an engaging teacher that has a record of increasing classroom participation, offers plenty of positive reinforcement and works to develop a connection with each student.
I take pride in my unique teaching style, revolving around fun and interactive methods, ensuring that concepts are understood and can be applied, rather than the memorisation of a marking sheet. My goal is to enhance content knowledge and boost confidence in exam technique.
Lets make learning an enjoyable and successful experience.
