I am a 37yr old, Essex-based English tutor with over 10yrs experience, offering private tuition for students in the Essex area preparing for their 11+, GCSE, A Level, or University examinations.

DBS-checked, PGCE awarded, GTC accredited.

Experience: With 10yrs teaching experience at GCSE & A-LEVEL, students usually achieve their target grades with at least +1 grade level of improvement with my supervision.

At 11+, the 5yrs experience has seen successful applications to King Edwards Grammar for Boys, Chelmsford County High for Girls, Southend & Westcliff Grammar schools.

Many clients have continued with my services for siblings after a successful tutoring period and I pride myself on a reliable, professional service.

Matthew has been fantastic at helping my daughter prepare for her recent GCSE English language and literature exams. Matthew is extreme knowledgeable, is always well prepared and makes the best use of their tutoring time. He has a very encouraging, patient and friendly approach to each session.
