Information about Giuliana

I’m Italian native speaker and I’ve been teaching Italian to foreigners since 2000. In 1999, after completing my masters degree in humanities at the University of Bologna, I moved to London to experience life abroad and to start teaching Italian, beginning at the prestigious International House London, where I gained my ‘Ih Certificate to teach Italian to adults’. Later I became a Teacher Trainer at International House for the CLTA (Certificate in Language Teaching to Adults) program.
Whilst in London, I tutored students and prepared them for exams at University College London (Italian department), City University, and Westminster University. I also taught Italian at all levels to staff at banks and several companies, including The Economist Magazine, Deutsche Bank, Arup, NCIS (National Criminal Intelligence Service), and Agip Oil Company (UK) Limited. I ran courses at the Cabinet Office and HM Treasury.
Back in Italy in 2005 and based, once again, in Bologna, I completed a masters degree in human-resource management. Since returning to Bologna, I have taught Italian at both the Johns Hopkins University Paul Nitze School of Advanced International Studies, Bologna Center, and the University of Bologna. I have coordinated courses at the European Food Safety Authority in Parma, for the University of Leicester in Tuscany, for Virginia Tech University and Johns Hopkins University in Bologna. Also, during this time, I have been working as a private language tutor, occasionally accompanying my students in their travels around the world.
I truly enjoy teaching Italian and interacting with people from different cultures. It’s been my good fortune to remain in contact with many of my students after they return home, and I treasure the friendships I’ve made with people from different corners of the world.
Currently, I also organize study abroad programs in Bologna for American universities and foreign students.
