Information about Kiran Kaur

I am a highly motivated, imaginative and innovative individual who has the academic and social attributes to help a child to prosper. I have excellent listening and communication skills, which is important as you need to be able to listen and converse with colleagues, children and parents. In addition to this, I am very approachable which helps me to cement the professional relationship I have with children. Education is important for every child because the children of today are our future leaders of society, so we need to ensure they receive the best quality of education which will help them to prosper. Children need to be able to learn from a variety of sources and in differing ways, and I feel that I can work with the curriculum to provide any information in a format that includes opportunities for visual, auditory and kinesthetic learning.

Experience: I have shown my commitment to the teaching profession by proactively pursuing a career path as an educator for several years. In 2011 I started my undergraduate degree in Early Childhood Education Studies, where I first experienced the variety of needs and commitment required to assist children in their learning. In 2015 I started my PGCE and learnt about the academic pedagogy behind teaching and how I could implement this theory within classroom environments. Full immersion of the learning cycle highlighted the progression that is achievable when effective pedagogy is in place. I strive to ensure that all children possess equal opportunities to access their potential regardless of race, culture, background or religion. I know that different levels of support are required for each child, so I ensure that my lessons are inclusive and the educational material is accessible to children of differing abilities. I have taught all year groups in a primary school setting and have successfully raised attainment for the children that I have worked with. Furthermore, I have also partaken in supply work for one year, which allowed me to broaden my skills and experiences by working with a large number of schools in Birmingham, Sandwell and Walsall.
