Information about Boris

Hi, my name`s Boris, and I`m a Mathematics MSc undergraduate at Oxford University, going into my 4th and final year. My personal mathematical interests lie generally in applied maths and mathematical modelling, fluid mechanics in particular.

Regarding my own GCSE/A-level maths experience, I achieved A* in maths GCSE and A* with distinction in further maths iGCSE, as well as A*s in both maths and further maths A-level. I have a first-hand experience of taking these examinations, and I know what steps you will need to take both in revision and in the exam to boost your confidence, achieve your potential and get you the grades you deserve.

I`ve received firsts (or equivalent) in my 1st, 2nd and 3rd year university examinations and have a predicted first as my final grade after 4 years.

Outside of formal education, I have a keen interest in pretty much all aspects of music, achieving grade 6 trumpet and grade 8 piano, playing with the Lancashire Jazz Orchestra and touring throughout Europe, as well as martial arts, including a black belt in Taekwondo. I`ve always believed in doing good with the education I`ve received, and helping people through tutoring is a great way to achieve this. I genuinely do look forward to tutoring you.

Availability: I tend to offer slots from 9-5 from Monday-Friday, but I`m willing to be flexible if needs be.

Willing to travel: 2 miles

Experience: I began tutoring in my first years at Oxford, teaching university STEM applicants from my former school for A-levels and Oxbridge entrance examinations, alongside running presentations for classes there.

The Oxford tutorial system has really taught me what a proper tutoring experience should feel like, and what vital skills and techniques can make that difference in helping students achieve a true understanding of mathematics and the topics at hand.
