Secondary Humanities and Primary Education

I am a full time, fully qualified, secondary school teacher and committed part-time private tutor. I have experience teaching all core subjects at primary school level, secondary school humanities and preparing students for Year 2 and Year 6 SATS, GCSE, IGCSE, A-Level and application to University. Lessons can be delivered in person, online (Teams), occasionally by phone or email plus tailoring courses for home-schooled children.

Availability: Lessons are usually delivered online. However, being a car driver, I am in a unique position to travel out too hard to reach places by public transport in the Berkshire, Buckinghamshire and beyond into Surrey.

Normally, I will have certain days of the week where I try to concentrate work to a particular area, but again can be flexible which is made easier by the fact I drive. Additional (and more flexible) tutoring is also held over half terms, Christmas, Easter and summer breaks which makes me highly adaptable to each student’s schedule.

It is usually mutually beneficial to arrange a regular slot for tuition in order to ensure progress is made efficiently and effectively.

Experience: I have over 1300 hours of experience tutoring students from: The U.K., France, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Russia and South Africa. I am currently tutoring via Teams to South Africa and the Netherlands on a weekly basis. From this extensive experience, as well as my current teaching position, I have learned a lot about the best approach to engage and inspire students to understand and enjoy their course.

I am familiar with and have educated students under most exam boards, including: AQA, CCEA, Pearson Edexcel, OCR, WJEC Eduqas, Ofqual (SATS) and SQA.

I graduated from the University of Winchester with a 2.1 BA (Hons) in Humanities. My university education has opened a wealth of opportunities for me and I too want to help students receive the best possible education which will lay the foundations for a successful career later in life.
