I have been teaching Media studies, English language and English for Academic purposes for over 10 years mostly at A-level and also at university level. I currently work at Bournemouth University International College as a teacher of Media studies and English. I have a degree in English and Drama from Royal Holloway University of London, and a Masters degree in Media and Communications from Bournemouth University.

I have also taught English as a Foreign Language for many years and that has included exam preparation classes such as for IELTS, FCE, and CAE and academic English in preparation for attending university.

I offer lessons in AcademIc English, English exam preparation such as IELTS, CAE, TOEFL etc, English as a Foreign Language, Media and Communications, and English literature.

I try to make lessons as engaging as possible and break down the subject in a way that is much manageable for the pupil. I am very patient and believe in building the pupils` confidence in order to encourage them to achieve more highly. I have lots of experience teaching 16-18 year olds and in my experience they enjoy the lessons more if they are made more interactive and come `off the page`. I therefore often teach through doing practical tasks such as writing scri pts doing role plays, or making short films (in the case of Media and Communications).

Experience: I have over 7 years teaching experience, and I possess PGCE stage 1 diploma in English, as well as a CELTA- the qualification to Teach English as a foreign language. I have taught Media and Communications for almost 3 years at Bournemouth University International College, and I have previously taught Academic English at Kaplan International Colleges for 2 and 1/2 years. I have been a tutor for several tutoring agencies in London and during that time my pupils all achieved the grades they were hoping for.I have also tutored privately English literature for GCSE and A-level. I have also written Media courses at foundation level, A-level and for year 1 of a bachelor`s degree. I feel that I am quite experienced in the area of Media studies as a result of my Master`s degree and due to the extensive research that I conducted whilst writing Media courses.
