Hi!

I’m a friendly, relaxed tutor with a degree in English Literature from Durham University. Though new to the site, I do have over 100 hundred hours of tutoring experience, and a total of 2 years’ experience teaching in language schools both in the UK and abroad.

Besides EFL, the main subject I teach is English. I’ve helped numerous students improve their grades through a focus on essay technique and close analysis of literary texts. So if you’re stuck on Steinbeck, or can’t get your head round Hemingway, then drop me a line!

I also have a lot of experience tutoring for the 11+ and 13+, so do get in touch if your child is preparing for either of those exams.

Though I mainly do online lessons, if you happen to be based near Old Trafford, Manchester we could consider starting online with a view to doing face-to-face lessons once things calm down with Covid.

During my time at Durham university, I worked online for a tutoring company. I tutored English Literature, maths, 11+ and 13+ and had an average approval rating of 4.8/5.

During the summers, when I wasn’t at university, I gained a CELTA qualification and began working in summer schools in Oxford, teaching English as a foreign language. I taught teenagers from all over the world in classes of between five and fifteen students.

After leaving university, I moved to Gran Canaria, where I taught for a year in a language academy, specialising in preparing students for Cambridge exams such as KEY, PET and CAE.
