I`m Areeba, studying medicine at Imperial College London. I took biology, chemistry and maths for my A levels and was awarded 3 A*s. I am also a passionate creative and am offering tutoring services in maths and chemistry alongside brush lettering/calligraphy lessons. I am an energetic tutor enthusiastic about working with students and excited to grow individual confidence and skill. I am outgoing, reliable and have a strong academic record which supports my teaching and I would love to share my tips in my tutoring sessions too. My classes will consist of going through a topic of choice followed by questions to practise the content learnt and develop the knowledge taught. Depending on the students` needs, I am happy to cater my teaching style to best support their learning. I will work with the student through any questions they may have as well as teaching particular topics they may need further support on. I am confident in teaching A level Ocr A chemistry alongside maths as a whole, whether that be pure or applied edexcel A-level maths plus maths from primary till GCSE. I would often help my peers with chemistry questions that they needed some help on and they had a much better understanding afterwards. To conclude, during the classes we can go through the course, topic by topic or focus on areas of interest whilst continually assessing knowledge along the way through use of practice questions. We will regularly carry out mini quizzes to recap previously covered topics and strengthen the skills learnt.

Experience: I am an enthusiastic and diligent tutor who has previously tutored gcse maths students alongside working with young children on their Maths and English skills. When working as a GCSE maths tutor, I had interactive lessons to engage the students and to develop their understanding of the concepts. I would illustrate a particular method and then the student had the opportunity to try it out for themselves followed by applying the technique to exam style questions. I am experienced in teaching children of different ages and adapting my teaching style to suit each individual whether that be through turning mathematical methods into a game or breaking what at first can seem a quite complex concept into simple more manageable steps through familiar methods. I have volunteered at a local primary school where I worked with young children and was involved in assessing their maths and english skills alongside providing feedback to progress in their academic development. I also worked at Kumon where I would help a wide range of students whether that be young children or teenagers. I assessed their working style as well as providing individualised help. I prompted them in the right direction so that the students remained focused on their work and were able to see how we got to the right answer. Furthermore, I was a maths ambassador during sixth form and I ran a maths clinic where I would help with students’ queries using interactive teaching tools such as diagrams. I am a self taught artist and I have 5 years of experience of bullet journaling and calligraphy. I have created my own brush lettering worksheets which I will utilise in my calligraphy lessons.
