Information about Parul
Hi and welcome to my profile!
My name is Parul, I am 23 years old and currently working in Manchester. I have a maters degree in Chemistry from the University of Manchester and plently of teaching experience, right from GCSE to Masters level.
I am super passionate about the subjects I teach. Due to me being closer to the age of my students, a lot of the content is very fresh in my mind and I can help explain topics in a way they can understand. I believe every student is different and I am happy to tailor tutoring sessions to their needs. Im very easy to get along with, organised, punctual and reliable.
My general approach to teaching is to first recap the previous lesson, explain the next topic, and then use varied resources such as practice questions, past paper questions, flash cards, posters etc to solidify what we have learnt, then a brief recap at the end. I always take feedback from my students so I can continually adapt to their style and help them get the most out of their sessions.
Despite my younger age, I have 5 and a half years tutoring experience under my belt, 2 of which involved leading the student mentoring scheme for the Chemistry course while studying for my degree.
Availability: Monday-Friday : limited availability but only after 6pm and at my flat only (I am based in New Islington)

I offer discounts for block bookings (10 hour block 10%, 20 hour block 20% off)
Please note due to this being my second job, I can only accept 2 hour lesson bookings not 1 hour.
I can also offer intensive block exam revision sessions for multiple hours a day.
I drive so I can come to you or you`re welcome at my flat in New Islington. Longer distances may incur a small charge j(ust to cover petrol nothing extortionate!)
Willing to travel: 5 miles
Experience: I have plenty of experience over 5 years tutoring students in all of my subjects, of varying abilities and backgrounds. I have also tutored and mentored an undergraduate chemistry student with Aspergers and learning difficulties so I have absolutely no issues with teaching you/ your child if you have any kind of disability/ learning difficulty.
I worked as a PASS leader (peer assisted study sessions) for first year students in my second year of university. I planned 1 hour sessions to facilitate the learning of the students as well as helping with lab reports. Being in the same position as them the previous year I could really understand and empathise with the difficulties of the transition between school and university. I made the sessions as engaging and enjoyable as possible while also being educational.
In my third year I held the position of a PASS co-ordinator. This meant being in charge of running the mentoring scheme in the school of chemistry, guiding them in the right direction to plan fantastic mentoring sessions and revision techniques etc.
