I am a dedicated Science tutor with an extensive seven-year tenure, specializing in Biology. I have also taught Triple Physics for three years. My pedagogical approach is rooted in the individualization of teaching methodologies to cater to the diverse learning styles of my students, including those with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). Committed to professional development, I actively engage in Continuous Professional Development (CPD) opportunities to refine my expertise and ensure the fulfillment of every student`s educational requirements. I completed my ECT training.
- I did professional development with the Lead Practitioner in Science at
Princess Risborough in 2021. She visited Mandeville School to work with the Science
department and my target was lower ability students.
- I did a teaching and learning program with the Head of the Science department at Mandeville School in 2021 with a focus on challenging students more in lessons by changing the structure of tasks given and asking more probing questions which would prompt students to do more critical thinking. I then did a presentation in the Science department featuring what I learnt from the program.
I taught students that got up to grade 8 in Triple Physics
I have gained experience in meeting the needs of students that are SEND (have specific learning needs)

I was in charge of the schedules for Science club for two years and ensured
that practicals for the club were booked in advance.

Achievements:
I wrote a research paper entitled ‘Using workshop, cooperative learning strategies and technology integration to improve the Grade 9 Biology student’s grades.’ in my final year of college. I used this research as a basis to teach my grade nine students who have difficulty learning the subject. Majority of the students who did not attempt to do work in classes started to get better scores in tests. I saw improvement in the final exams for 46% of the students when the final term was compared to the first term.
50% of my students in one grade 8 class improved in their final exam grades.
