I am Faculty Leader of Modern Foreign Languages. I teach French from 11-18 and Spanish from 11-18, including GCSE, AS and A Level.

I have previously prepared students for the IB in French and Spanish. My A-Level/IB specialisms within MFL are Politics and History. I have also taught Film and Literature.

I have taught both languages at primary schools. I have also taught English as a private tutor in Paris and in primary schools there. At primary school level, I adopt the communicative approach to language teaching and my soft toys Fernando y Flora/François et Francine prove extremely popular!

I hold an Upper Second Class Honours in French and Spanish, with a distinction in speaking for both languages. I also hold a PGCE in French and Spanish 11-18. I am also an examiner for Edexcel.

I have lived in Mexico, Spain and Paris, giving private tutoring to both children and adults.

I have the Enhanced Disclosure Check.

I`m very passionate about tutoring and make it interesting and fun. For children, the most important aspect is to find out straightaway where they are at and communicate to them what they need to do to improve and how they can do it. Thus, I structure my lesson and connect according to each tutee’s needs and enjoy using a wide range of different sources that can make language learning more fun and effective for pupils.

I support students with their GCSE preparation. Each exam board has certain criteria against which they are marked and having taught using these different specifications, I know what they are looking for and how to obtain the highest grades. Equally, there are particularly techniques which equal success in reading and listening.

I provide support with homework to assist the student with their learning, teach grammar and can provide supplementary exercises and grammar sheets.

Every person can make excellent progress if given the correct support and the chance to develop their confidence in a subject and that is what I aim at for my students.

Availability: Weekday evenings. Weekdays during the school holidays.
