Information about Elio

Hi! My name`s Elio and I`m studying European Social Political Studies at UCL, specialising in French and Political Science. I am bilingual (English and Spanish) and have studied French at school since I was 8 years old, so it should come to no surprise that I love languages and linguistics. I love that I`m able to visit so many countries and be capable of speaking with and understanding locals. I also find that, the better you know a language, the better you understand others that you don`t speak: I find myself able to understand Portuguese and Italian speakers thanks to my knowledge of Spanish and French! I`m happy to work with students of any level if they share the same eagerness to learn, or are prepared to work to pass their exams.

Availability: I`m based in West London (Kensal Rise/Queen`s Park) and am willing to travel to meet your needs.
I`m happy to do my lessons online and I`m also flexible regarding scheduling. I`m also willing to negotiate my pricing in individual cases.

Willing to travel: 5 miles

Experience: I have been tutoring for many years now, acquiring over 130 hours of experience teaching both Spanish and French.

I volunteered to mentor secondary school students at my previous sixth form (University College School Hampstead). I have tutored Spanish and French to students of varying ages, primarily with the intention of passing an exam (mainly GCSEs).

I`m most concerned with establishing the student`s strengths and weaknesses when it comes to study techniques, as each person learns differently and at varying rates.

If the aim is to pass certain exams (SATs, GCSEs, A-Levels, etc), then the focus will primarily be on exam technique and to achieve what is needed to perform at one`s best level. If one simply intends to better their level for pleasure or for going abroad, then speaking and listening skills are most important, with less focus on grammar rules, for example.
