I am a friendly, approachable and personable teacher with over 7 years teaching experience in the classroom. I have always loved education, and enjoy helping others not only to understand a topic, but to delight in it. I enjoy meeting new people, and finding the interesting side of anything.

I’ve taught across Key Stage 1 and 2 and currently teach year 2. I specialise in year 1 phonics screening, years 2 sats and 11+ tuition and work with pupils in across year 1-6.

This is in addition to experience in tutoring 11 Plus English, Maths Verbal and Non-Verbal Reasoning, and I have an in depth knowledge of requirements for CEM, GL and private school entrance tests across the country.

4) 11+ exam practice- 90% of my tutees have cleared 1 or more Grammar Schools in Kent and Bexley (Dartford Grammar, Mayfield Grammar School and Bexley Grammar).

Able to teach and support SEN / EAL children at KS1 and KS2

Homework will be provided.

Availability: I am most available for tutoring work most evenings and on Saturday mornings. There will be some daytime weekday availability, but it varies week to week, so simply ask.

Experience: Having worked in primary schools for the past 7 years, I have enjoyed helping students through difficulties with their subjects while endeavouring to find and solve the problems students have in their understanding to give them a firmer grasp of the topic. I am a very friendly and approachable person and experienced in teaching a variety of different ability levels. I use a variety of teaching methods to make learning interesting and fun, in order to get the best out of my students. I am skilled at establishing pupils` individual learning needs and tailoring lessons to ensure they can make as much progress as possible.

I set a high standard of success for my students but always try to maintain a calming fun environment that does not feel stressful, or feel like another session of school after an already long day of learning. I have extensive knowledge on many SE private schools in both curriculum expectation levels as well as entrance exam levels and requirements.

As a teacher, I know what is required to not only prep for SATS in both maths (including reasoning) and English (Spelling and Grammar), but also what is required for the children leaving year 6 and heading to secondary school (be it private, Grammar or otherwise).
