Information about Susan

I am a well-loved and respected primary and secondary teacher/tutor who has worked in the Sudbury area for over 25 years. I offer myself as a highly experienced and fully qualified one-to-one Primary and Secondary Maths tutor to GCSE (Foundation Level).

With my enthusiastic, nurturing and patient approach, I find that subject competence and self-confidence are quick to develop in my students. I also encourage creativity and independence and aim to cultivate a life-long love of learning. It is important to make learning fun and that is what I do!

I tutored both of my own children during their educational journeys; my daughter is now a Veterinary Surgeon having graduated from The University of Cambridge and my son is a Musician and SEND Tutor in London following his graduation from University College London.

Availability: I am available to teach afternoons/ evenings after school/college and during weekends, to suit.

Willing to travel: 10 miles

Experience: My specialism is Primary and Secondary Maths to GCSE (Foundation Level).

During my career I was responsible for the development of the PSHE (Personal, Social and Health Education) curriculum in a local primary school for several years and am I committed to the well-rounded development of students and their well-being.

A grounding in counselling, meditation and mindfulness techniques has also been used fruitfully in my mentoring capacity.

In addition, I am highly skilled in working with students who have special educational needs. I have worked as a SENCo (Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator) at primary level and also enjoyed my time as Curriculum Lead in a SEN School.
