Information about Lucie
Hi, I`m Lucie and I`m a bilingual English/French student PhD student at the Univeristy of Cambridge. I specialise in contemporary political theory and historical political thought.
I completed my undergraduate degree in Philosophy, Politics and Economics at the University of Oxford University in 2018, receiving 1st class honours. I then worked for the Constitution Unit, a think tank based in UCL where I researched constitutional and democratic reform beforing completing a masters degree in Political Thought and Intellectual History at the University of Cambridge in June 2020 where I received a distinction.
I studied Philosophy, Maths, History, French and Politics to A-level, receiving A*A*A*A and straight A*s at GCSE.
I`m available for the following;
- Tutoring all subjects from KS1 up to year 9.
- Politics, Philosophy, History and French up to A-level.
- Degree-level politics and philosophy.
- Oxbridge application guidance including for the TSA written test, mock interview practice and essay writing skills.
Having fairly recently gone through the rigors of school and university examinations myself and with three younger siblings doing so currently, I understand how stressful this period can be for students and parents alike. I can guide your children through this time and help them work towards the top grades, but Im also keen to instill a genuine interest in the subject an interest often lost when learning in large classes!
I always enjoy working with younger students too and make sure I tailor my lessons so they are age-appropriate. One-on-one sessions allow much more flexibility and time to explore the fun side of learning.
I can also conduct lessons in French.
Availability: Very flexible.
Im available most times & days and willing to travel to most places. If youd prefer, Id be happy to conduct the lesson in a café.
Willing to travel: 12 miles
Experience: I have previous experience in tutoring for all ages and am happy to provide references.
Im currently tutoring several politics and philosophy degree students covering topics including political thought, European integration, comparative political institutions, metaphysics, and ethics. I have also conducted French language classes with adult non-native speakers and intensive holiday prep for language, maths, and humanities GCSE and A-Level pupils. I`ve also provided Oxbridge interview prep and personal statement guidance for prospective Oxbridge applicants.
